What is a planar beam load cell?
Planar beam load cells are weight measuring units with strain gauges attached to sensing beams on a flat rectangular spring element, typical structure has four mounting holes on one end and one loading hole on the other end forming winged beams. They can be used individually but are most often used in sets of three or four under a platform to form a weighing system. Planar beam load cells feature an ultra-low profile design and are well suited for applications with tight and confined spaces such as medical scales, inventory monitoring system, floor scales and other test & measurement applications where space is a limiting factor.
