What is a button load cell?
Button load cells are compressive force measuring devices utilizing strain gauge technology and feature a slightly convex load button on the top for accurate load distribution. Made from stainless steel with diaphragm construction, the low deflection design enables fast frequency response, making them ideal for dynamic force measurements.
Button type load cells are known for their small footprint, and mounting could be a challenge. Some subminiature models can be mounted to a flat surface using glue to secure the bottom, or sandwiched between the assemblies, while other models with bigger size provide tapped holes or mounting base to facilitate installation.
Button load cells offer excellent solutions for compression force measuring applications with tight and confined spaces such as clamp force measurement, robotics, force control and feedback in automation equipment, testing and quality control in production line, medical devices, overload detection, etc.
